Test your website’s contact forms …regularly.
Depending on a handful of factors, some forms can silently stop sending emails. Usually after website plugin updates, or recipients’ ever-tighter spam filtering rules. When that happens, enquiries can disappear without anyone realising.
3 things worth checking:
Test your forms monthly
Regularly submit a test enquiry and make sure it lands in your inbox. Check spam/junk folders. Let me know if you need me to take a look, it’s (nearly always) a quick-ish fix.
Email authentication (SPF / DKIM)
Depending on how your domain email has been authenticated, recipients’ providers like Gmail and Outlook can quietly block or spam enquiries. Deliverability rules are getting stricter, so it’s worth making sure everything is configured correctly. Let me know if you’re getting Bounceback messages from GoogleMail addresses etc.
Use a branded email address
Ideally your contact address should be something like hello@yourdomain.co.uk rather than a (generic) Gmail/Hotmail/Yahoo account. It looks more professional and can even improve deliverability. Let me know if you’re still using your personal mailbox for work emails.
